About The Club

The Canadian Salmon Club is a member owned private fishing camp located on the Bonaventure River in the Gaspé region of Québec, Canada. The club was incorporated in 1923 and has hosted fly fishermen in their pursuit of the famous Atlantic Salmon ever since. Each year the club allots available time on the river to its members and our guests. Our mission is to provide the very best fishing experience to our members and guests in a relaxed and professional club environment. Our team of guides and staff are there to ensure that we deliver on that mission.

Accomodations

This well-groomed country estate is perched high above the Bonaventure river bed. Breezeways connect a multitude of well appointed buildings. The Club has its special historical appeal. It is unpretentious, and yet irresistibly unique. Glass sliding doors open the view from the living room to the river below. The oversized two-sided fireplace separates the dining room from the great room. To enjoy the magic of outdoor living, one can observe the sunrise and sunset from the comfort of the large screened-in porch. Beautiful rattan furniture adds a romantic touch to the outdoor ambience.

The lodge is made up of three buildings all linked by a covered walkway, with the common area in the middle and the two sleeping cottages on either side. The buildings were built back in the 1920’s, and have been updated with modern amenities while still maintaining that historical charm of yesteryear. One cottage contains two large bedrooms each with a fireplace and private ensuite washroom. This cottage can accommodate a veranda guest in each room. The second cottage houses four smaller bedrooms, each with private washroom facilities. Two of these rooms have fireplaces and will accommodate a veranda guest.

The main lodge consists of; the kitchen and dining room with a sitting area and wood burning fireplace, the great room which has its own fireplace, wet bar, sitting area, library and TV. A large screened porch is located next to the great room that overlooks the river below providing that ideal spot for an after dinner cigar, scotch and fish stories.

The Camp

We are a six-rod camp. Each angler has their own canoe and guide. Our preference is to have a group of 6 anglers in either 3 day or 6 day stays. The camp can accommodate six fishers each in their own private room. Four of the six rooms have their own wood burning fireplaces and can accommodate a veranda guest. The rooms are linked to a common screened in porch area overlooking the magnificent Bonaventure River below. Meals are served in the dining room which overlooks the river. Cocktails (from the self serve bar), tea, coffee and appetizers are served in the great room. Once again there is a large attached screen porch overlooking the river, providing that ideal spot for an after dinner cigar, scotch and fish stories.

Laundry service is provided daily, allowing you to travel light regardless of your length of stay.

On the property there is a fully stocked trout pond for you to practice your casting or catch a fresh trout for breakfast. There are some well marked hiking trails and a suspended bridge over the river that will give you access to trails that run along the river as well as to a waterfall and gorge up a remote hillside.
